The role:

  • Be the first-level support for all employees and users at the site, in cooperation with our national and international IT team
  • Administration support for problems related to IT infrastructure such as computers, printers, scanners and other equipment
  • Setting up computers and support in software distribution (SCCM), local and remote, output of computers and users, maintenance of IT systems in operation
  • Contacts for operative activities, such as the installation of users in the system, print server administration and event technology, as well as securing backup solutions (file server, cloud, etc.)
  • Office 365 administration, incl. Outlook, Skype for Business
  • Planning of the IT equipment and procurement at the location and additional work for the higher-level IT budget planning, initiation of procurement processes in coordination with the higher-level unit

Skills required:

  • Successful completion in the IT environment and several years of professional experience in IT administration and IT support
  • Identify, prioritize and resolve complex IT infrastructure, voice and network issues
  • You can use your experience to identify root causes of problems and develop efficient solutions
  • Secure handling of configuration and setup of a wide range of server types, firewalls, solutions, virtual machines, backup systems and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English. German language skills are desirable.
  • Process-oriented and analytical thinking

Applicants should have suitable and relative teaching experience and should hold a MA/MBA or

Job Role

BSBI is seeking a highly motivated and professional Accommodation Manager to work in our busy Student Services department within the school. The key objective is to establish and manage relationships with student accommodation providers in Berlin to ensure excellent services and housing opportunities for our students. Your duties will include:

  • Source and build relationships with new accommodation providers
  • Ensure that the offering to BSBI students is always very rich and covers a large variety of accommodation types – from short to long term, close or further away from the centre / campus and certainly for all budgets
  • Ensure BSBI students obtain the best rates possible as well as preferential rates from providers of accommodation
  • Drive the development of the accommodation branch within the Student Services department and create the strategy needed to meet its objectives
  • Manage queries in person, by email and phone from students, prospective students and programme consultants about student accommodation in Berlin
  • To conduct timely review and completion of accommodation brochure, accommodation handbooks and other information including the website promoting the accommodation offer, procedure and support available. 
  • Work closely with the planned School residence halls to ensure optimum use of the rooms while giving best care to our students
  • Conduct market research into prices and offerings of competitors, ensuring we are always one step ahead of what the competition offer
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and when needed to students about a variety of accommodation issues including allocations, accommodation options, rent arrears and contractual issues, making referrals where appropriate. 
  • Deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction through seamless administration and excellent customer service
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of a guest family housing scheme
  • Manage one student facing staff and ensuring the information resources and training is in place to offer an outstanding customer service
  • Meet set KPIs in placing students in accommodation


Job Requirements

  • Proven experience of working in the student accommodation, hotel, hospitality or property sector is essential
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build rapport with both customers and business professionals quickly
  • Able to handle difficult situations with ease, remain calm and positive under pressure
  • Client-focused mentality with creative problem-solving abilities
  • You enjoy working in a team, showing initiative and introducing new ideas
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Fluent English and German skills (both spoken and written)
  • Experience in real estate and property management will be considered a great advantage
  • Management of staff experience also an advantage but not essential
