Overview

Dr Sushma Kumari is a highly dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of psychology, with a focus on cognitive psychology. With a PhD (2019) from Banaras Hindu University, one of India’s top research institutes, and extensive experience in both academic and applied settings, Dr Kumari brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.

Through her doctoral research and subsequent projects, she has significantly advanced our understanding of how emotions influence our ability to remember to perform actions in the future. Dr Sushma Kumari has received a Senior Research Fellowship from the Government of India for her distinguished contributions to the field of psychology.

Dr Kumari’s professional journey includes roles as a Scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), where she played a crucial role in the psychological assessment of Indian Armed Personnel. Her experience also extends to academia, having served as an Assistant Professor at AMITY University of Behaviour and Allied Sciences and Banaras Hindu University.

In addition to her academic and research pursuits, Dr Kumari is a sought-after speaker and has presented her work at numerous international conferences and seminars. She has received prestigious awards and recognition for her contributions to the field, including being selected as an “Emerging Psychologist” at the 31st International Congress of Psychology and receiving travel grants and invitations to participate in prominent conferences worldwide.

Dr Kumari’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration is evident through her involvement in various projects and workshops, both nationally and internationally. She possesses advanced statistical and research skills, including proficiency in IBM SPSS Statistics, R Programming, and EEG/fMRI data analysis.
