Living in Barcelona, Spain

Learn all about what Barcelona has to offer as an international study destination.

Barcelona is beautiful and the second largest city in Spain!

The city is known for its excellent football team, sunny climate, Mediterranean vibe, iconic buildings, and breathtaking viewpoints. Can you imagine combining all of these with an international student experience?

An international education, by the sea and mountains

Barcelona is one of the largest metropolises in the Mediterranean, located on the coast between the beautiful rivers Llobregat and Besòs, and to the west of Sierra de Collserola mountain range. You can experience a day at the beach in summer or see snow on the mountains during winter, all with stunning scenery!

The best of both worlds - embrace a multi-city education

Barcelona is one of the most visited cities in Europe, and it welcomes people from all over the world. It has a long history, fabulous art museums, intriguing architecture, and delicious food.

BSBI is proud to be able to offer an international study experience to students in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You can start your international education in Barcelona, Spain and choose to complete your education in Berlin, Germany.

Barcelona has over 4000 years of history, is a world-famous city known for its culture, and cuisine and is the capital of Catalonia. Explore the city as a student, and embrace a new culture.

Barcelona is the only city that has ever received the Royal Gold Medal for its architecture. This is an annual award normally given to an individual or group. Barcelona received this medal in 1999. With so many fantastic buildings, it is no wonder that many people are drawn to Barcelona due to its fascinating architecture. Add the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona Cathedral, Casa Mila and Casa Batlló to your sightseeing list!

With only 55 days of rain a year on average, and mild temperatures year-round, Barcelona has some of the best weather you can find anywhere in the world. On Spring, the weather is mild but a little bit unpredictable. During summer, the weather is hot and humid. Bring lightweight linen or cotton clothing and T-shirts for the summer months. During Autumn, the temperature starts to get cooler, but you can still enjoy sunny and warm weather some days. In winter, the weather is generally cool and sometimes cold and windy, but there are still sunny and mild days. Make sure to bring winter clothing, and an umbrella for rainy days.

Being one of the most famous streets in Europe, Las Ramblas is a series of five streets stretching from Plaça de Catalunya in the city centre to the Christopher Columbus Monument near the port. This is one of the busiest and most vivid streets in Barcelona and you’ll find many street performers, flower stands, and souvenir shops here. La Boqueria Market and Palau Güell, one of Gaudí’s lesser-known attractions, are also in this area

Did you know that around a third of the population of Barcelona is made up of immigrants? That`s right! Immigration has played a key part in the economic growth of the region being recognized for its diversity inside and outside Spain.
