Our team

Overview

Dr. Aidan Islyami studied Mathematics and Economics, earning a BSc in Applied Mathematics and an MA in Economics. He obtained a PhD in Quantitative Economics from Kiel University (CAU) in Germany in 2012. Since 2011, he has served as a full-time faculty member at the International School of Economics in Almaty, a University of London recognised teaching centre. Additionally, from 2018 to 2022, he held a role in the ISE Administration.

Aidan has extensive experience teaching various University of London courses, including Introduction to Economics, Statistics, Algebra, Mathematics, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. In 2022, he was selected as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in Development Studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., USA.

Dr. Islyami has managed and participated in international research projects with organisations such as the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, USA; the Institute for the World Economy in Kiel, Germany; the Asian Demographic Research Institute (ADRI) in Shanghai, China; the University of Queensland in Australia; the International Labour Organization (ILO) in the UK; and the Center for Strategic Initiatives (CSI) in Astana.
