Overview
Athanasia Kairou holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Strasbourg. Her passion for Cognitive Neuroscience led her to opt for a dissertation topic in the field of Cognitive Psychology with a focus on Reconstructive Memory.
Furthermore, she holds an MA degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Northampton. Based on both her interests and her educational status, her chosen dissertation theme was ‘The effectiveness of Neuromanagement on employee’s development and performance’.
She has collaborated with prominent mental health professionals on various projects focusing mainly on mental health and psychological wellbeing of adults, adolescents and couples. She further expanded her studies in Psychology by enrolling in a 4-year therapeutic programme in which she specialises in Systemic and Family Therapy.
Athanasia also volunteers at the non-profit organization ‘Together for Children’, counselling young adults, families and couples. Her research interests lie on the field of educational psychology, young adults’ wellbeing, personnel support and development. In addition, she is working on the project “How to support educators in order to support students” which is her proposed PhD research topic.
