In today’s dynamic global landscape, access to high-quality, affordable education is both a challenge and a necessity. As education becomes increasingly international, the need for flexible pathways that allow students to study across borders without financial barriers is more critical than ever.

While the globalisation of higher education has opened new doors for students, many still face obstacles—particularly variations in academic credit structures and programme designs across institutions. These inconsistencies often hinder student mobility and limit access to truly global learning experiences.

To address these challenges, Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI), in association with the Confederation of Indian Private Universities (CIPU), Pune, India, is organising a forum session titled “Partnerships for Global Degree – Towards Affordable Higher Education and Flexible Student Mobility.” The session will be part of the Tenth Annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum), organised by the United Nations.

This event aims to bring together global academic leaders to explore innovative, cross-border, and multi-stakeholder collaborations in higher education. The panel will focus on harmonising credit and programme structures—including the use of technological platforms—to deliver affordable, high-quality education to a broader international student base.

This online session will conclude with the development of a proposed Action Agenda, calling for enhanced cross-border collaboration to support the concept of a Global Degree. Through this initiative, we aim to share new perspectives on international student mobility and highlight the importance of multistakeholder partnerships in transforming the future of education.
