This practical workshop will cover topics which are essential to any job-seekers new to the German labour market:
- Different techniques of finding vacancies and available positions in Germany
- German online job portals – which are worth your time and which aren’t
- German-speaking or English-speaking? Which positions you should be applying to
- The “hidden job market” and how to get into it
- Speculative applications (Initiativbewerbung) – how to prepare and make these
- Online networking portals (such as LinkedIn) as a job application tool
Our external industry speaker is Mr Asit Dutta, currently the CEO of the recruitment agency – Xcellent Talents XP GmbH – and an expert in hunting down foreign talent for IT, Engineering, Project Management, Tech and Services roles. He previously worked in a number of specialized recruitment agencies such as Robert Half, Whitestone Technology Services, Fluunt and integrationWorks. Apart from English and German, he speaks fluent Hindi and Bengali and has, in his career as Recruitment Consultant, Head of Recruitment and now an owner and the CEO of a recruitment agency, placed hundreds of candidates from different countries into temporary or permanent positions with leading companies in Germany. A son of immigrants himself, he understands perfectly well the challenges that overseas workers face on the German labour market and will share his invaluable insights and guidance from his many years of working with German employers and supporting foreign candidates progress in their careers.
