BSBI organises first online FIFA tournament at the Berlin campus

Last month, the Berlin School of Business and Innovation hosted its first-ever online FIFA tournament for students at the Berlin campus, organised by the BSBI Student Council’s Sports Club.

The tournament provided students from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to bond over their love for the game and establish teammates for future matches.

On Monday 18 March, the tournament commenced with 30 participants in the first round, with 15 advancing to the main tournament. The Holographic Theatre at the Alte Post Berlin campus was set up to accommodate over 50 participants and spectators. From the first match to the final, every moment was filled with excitement and anticipation.

Participants competed for gift vouchers worth €50 for first place, €30 for second, and €20 for third. The tournament featured thrilling moments, from nail-biting penalties to epic goals, as participants from various programmes, levels and backgrounds showcased their strategies and skills.

The semi-finals and final took place on Monday 25 March, crowning Ateev Agarwal as the champion, followed by Ozan Guvenler in second place and Vishal Tiwari in third.

Ateev Agarwal said: “I’ve been gaming since childhood, and winning this tournament was a long-awaited achievement. It was truly enjoyable to be part of such an event, and I look forward to more tournaments in the future.”

Ozan Guvenler said: “The tournament was competitive and allowed us to test our skills against other students. It’s also an effective way to connect with fellow students on campus. Participating in this tournament was a great experience.”

The success of the inaugural tournament sets the stage for future editions, aiming to be even bigger and better.
