BSBI Students Visit ‘Delivery Hero’ Head Office in Berlin

On Wednesday 22 January 2020, Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) took 25 students to visit the head office of one of Berlin’s most successful start-ups, ‘Delivery Hero’.

Founded in 2011, Delivery Hero has become the leading global business for online food ordering in under 10 years; in 2018 alone, they processed over 369 million orders. Citing diversity as a key pillar of their success, Delivery Hero has over 22,000 employees from over 80 nationalities working across five continents.

The Berlin HQ boasts over 1,000 employees and it recently won Glassdoor’s Employee’s Choice Award Winner. BSBI students were warmly welcomed by Kristin Lücking, Employer Branding Specialist for the company.

There was a presentation and Q&A with a member of the strategy team who talked students through Delivery Hero’s journey to becoming a global market leader, as well as discussing how they do business in all corners of the world. Kristin then explained the recruitment process, noting that lack of knowledge of the German language is no barrier to working with Delivery Hero.

The visit ended with a tour of their offices and Delivery Hero taking the time to answer a range of questions. The experience was a great success for students who appreciated the organisation of the visit, enjoyed the presentation and found great value in learning about how the company launched and grew the business.
