Empowering Careers: Successful CV Workshop at BSBI Paris
On 5th December 2024, the Student Services Team together with the Student Council at BSBI Paris organised a highly beneficial CV Workshop designed to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the competitive French job market.
The workshop was led by Fatou Barry, Career Advisor at the BSBI Paris campus, with support from Owen Dedenys, Student Services Manager. Students gained valuable insights into current job market trends and learnt how to create CVs that stand out to employers.
Fatou reflected on her first workshop at BSBI Paris Campus: “The CV workshop provided an excellent opportunity to introduce myself to the students and better understand the challenges they face when applying for jobs in Paris. I was impressed by their engagement and the quality of their questions.”
The session proved particularly helpful for students like participant Assisatou Eniola Bachirou Olawale, RNCP T7 (PPA) Global MBA (UCA) student, who shared: “The CV workshop taught me how to tailor my CV for different industries and job positions while avoiding common mistakes. I now understand the importance of highlighting my strengths and aligning my CV with job descriptions. This has boosted my confidence in presenting my skills effectively.”

Many students recognised the importance of keeping their CVs concise and well-structured to meet employer expectations.
The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many attendees requesting it to become a regular event every two months. This would give students ongoing opportunities to update and refine their CVs as they progress in their studies and careers.
The enthusiastic participation and response highlighted the value of such initiatives in supporting student career development.
