All core modules carry 10 ECTS each, except for the Internship module which carries 12 ECTS and the dissertation which carries 18 ECTS. Cross Cultural Management and Business Decision Making for the Hospitality Industry modules carry 5 ECTS each.

NEW in 2025: BSBI is launching the Internship. The Internship will be effective at the end of master classes, term four.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management Professional Master programme, the student would be able to:

LO 1: Apply the knowledge of business and management principles, theories, tools and techniques in tourism, hospitality and event management while solving practical business issues.

LO2: Analyse the markets to identify the emerging business opportunities and trends and to clearly communicate changing business scenarios with likely practical impact on organisations in tourism, hospitality and event industry value-chain.

LO3: Engage effectively with the practice in the selected tourism, hospitality and event organisation through internship and practical real-world business problem-solving, expanding their professional and personal network through collaborative and practical approach. (This learning outcome is concerned with the practical engagement of the student.)

LO4: Integrate professional development for life-long learning through continuous development of intellectual, practical, and transferable skills that support both personal and professional leadership in management of tourism, hospitality and event industry. Minimum age: 21

Academic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university

If the academic requirements are not met, the candidate may be evaluated based on relevant work experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of marketing and corporate and/or institutional communication is required.

Note: Mandatory internships are intended for junior students. However, senior students may be exempt if they can demonstrate relevant professional experience. To validate the internship module, they must provide a letter from their employer addressed to BSBI.

The BSBI team of experts will assess the candidate’s language proficiency to ensure they meet the requirements for successful completion of this programme.

Spanish Language Requirements:
Exemptions from Spanish language proficiency requirements apply to:

  • Native Spanish speakers
  • Candidates who have completed their education in Spanish (such as a high school diploma or IB)
  • Candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree in Spanish in a Spanish-speaking country

English Language Requirements (if the programme is conducted in English):

Completion of a bachelor’s degree at a recognised university (as per NARIC) where the method of instruction was entirely in English (both teaching and assessment)

IELTS: Minimum score of 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each component)

English proficiency test: Minimum score of 56 (with at least 51 in each component)

Other equivalents:

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in an English-majority speaking country within the last two years

Credit recognition is available for:

  1. Professional experience
  2. Credits from other professional master’s programmes with CUALIFICAM certification
  3. Credits from official or accredited university master’s degrees and business schools.

The maximum recognised credits will not exceed 60 ECTS for a 90 ECTS programme.

Application Process: Applicants must indicate their desire for credit recognition when applying for admission and provide documentary evidence for credits earned in other recognised programmes or professional work experience.

Credit Recognition Committee: The equivalence of credits is determined by the Credit Recognition Committee, which includes the Dean, a faculty member familiar with the programme, and representatives from the Registrar and Admission Office. The committee’s decision is notified by the Registrar’s office.
