Student Experience

BSBI is dedicated to providing an enriched student experience.

Quarter 1: Your Student Experience

The Student Services Team is committed to providing exclusive workshops and exchange programmes for BSBI students.

In light of requests from the BSBI student body, the Student Services Team held two workshops and a week-long event in Amsterdam for 16 BSBI Hamburg students in April.

Exclusive workshops and exchange programmes

The workshop ‘Post-Study Visa Options for Graduates’ was
conducted on Wednesday 3 April by Student Services in hybrid
mode.

Scheduled sessions will be communicated to the student body.

On Friday 19 April, the BSBI Faculty of Creative Industries hosted a workshop entitled ‘I am rooted but I flow’ for around 50 creative arts students at the Hamburg campus. Katerina Katsifaraki, a renowned visual artist from Greece, was the main speaker at the
masterclass.

In April, the Faculty of Creative Industries at the International College (IC) in Amsterdam hosted an enriching event, IC Shorts, featuring the ‘Business Plan for Creatives’ programme.
Sixteen talented Art & Design students from BSBI Hamburg participated, showcasing exceptional dedication and innovation throughout the week-long event held from Monday 8 to Friday 12 April.

The Amsterdam Exchange Programme is offered once a year.
BSBI understands the importance of networking and employment-based events that aim to set a platform for a successful career after graduation.

BSBI Hamburg students continue to enjoy benefits from our partnership with UCA and were also invited to a networking and photoshoot event held by the Careers Service Team. BSBI is also excited to host its first graduation event in July.

Curated events, networking opportunities and other collaborations

BSBI produced three newsletters and held additional workshops for UCA Summer School in collaboration with UCA.

New workshop dates will be shared with the student community.

BSBI Careers Service Team organised the ‘Networking for Creatives – Workshop and Photoshoot’ event on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April at the BSBI Hamburg campus. Students received professional studio images for their CVs and enjoyed an insightful workshop that showed them how to enhance their job profiles and how to showcase their portfolios.

More career events are scheduled for this year including a Career Fair scheduled on Thursday
23 May.

This significant event will take place in July 2024. This will be an annual event.
BSBI has stepped up the access that students can receive from support teams and resources at BSBI.

By closing the gap between students and the academic team through initiatives like ‘Hamburg Dialogues’ and the implementation of finance team consultations, BSBI students now have more opportunities to address concerns and receive direct feedback and support from BSBI.

Regular access to support teams and resources

BSBI Introduced a new event format, ‘Hamburg Dialogues’, to regularly monitor the well-being of students across departments and highlight collaborative projects initiated by the Academic
Lead and Student Services.

‘Hamburg Dialogues’ are scheduled every third Friday of the month.

The finance team launched hybrid and onsite consultations for BSBI Hamburg students. The first finance team visit was on Monday 29 April.

Online webinars will be scheduled throughout the year. The first online session discussing accommodation was conducted in April.

QR Codes that give quick access to study tool resources were shared with BSBI students.

Since April, students have had access to the print lab at the GGG HTK campus.

The availability of this contact number has been communicated to students. This will address any concerns in a timely manner.
