In a world increasingly shaped by technological advancements, the role of art in society is evolving rapidly. From the rise of artificial intelligence in creative processes to the use of blockchain in authenticating art, the boundaries between disciplines are becoming increasingly blurred. Simultaneously, art and technology are emerging as powerful tools to address pressing societal challenges, from climate change to inequality.
In our upcoming Café Artistique session, Dr. Okan Tansu, Interim Dean of the Faculty of Creative Industries and Lecturer, will host artist Mr Yelta Köm for a discussion on “Intersections: Art, Technology, and Social Disruption.” The session will take place on 13 December 2024 at 2 PM CET at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) Hamburg campus.
We will explore the dynamic interplay between art and technology, examining how they influence and transform one another in an era of unprecedented change. Mr Köm will discuss how artistic practices challenge societal norms and crises, how technologies like AI, AR/VR, and blockchain redefine creative expression and access, and how the fusion of art and technology raises awareness and delivers solutions for global issues.
As with previous sessions, this episode will encourage audience interaction during the livestream. Whether you’re an aspiring creative or an established professional, this event promises valuable insights, connections, and a fresh spark of inspiration.
