Smart studying: These 12 AI tools make everyday student life easier

Berlin, 23 January 2025 — The everyday life of students is often characterized by stress, deadlines, and exams. But it is precisely in the midst of these challenges that innovative tools can be a real help. AI tools are not only practical aids, but also enable students to use their time more efficiently and concentrate on the essentials of their studies. The Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) has put together a selection of useful tools that go beyond well-known AI applications such as ChatGPT or Perplexity and can help students in their daily studies. These technologies not only support exam preparation, career planning or health promotion, they also show that AI can offer real added value in studying – aside from the prejudices about cheating or improper use.

‘AI tools are far more than just technical aids —  they are versatile assistants that can optimise students’ everyday academic lives. However, students should be aware that AI does not act as the originator of ideas or knowledge. When used effectively, AI tools serve as an aid and not as a substitute for students’ own critical thinking. For example, they can help to save valuable time in everyday tasks such as correcting texts, identifying sources or generating knowledge. This allows students to focus on in-depth learning and research. After all, people are the actual scientists, while AI serves as a tool for process optimisation,’ explains Dr Farshad Badie, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics at BSBI.
